The Systems Analyst analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system: Confers with various business units to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports.  Responsible for executing configuration, training, support, maintenance and improvement of the Salesforce platform.  The successful candidate will embrace the challenge of solving critical business problems and acting as the Salesforce knowledge expert of evolving and new processes.

The incumbent will:

  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems
  • Provide recommendations on IT resources and identify opportunities where we can improve efficiency of business processes
  • Performing IT related duties during working hours and when necessary after hours support
  • Analyze data contained in the corporate database and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions
  • Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications
  • Ability to lead projects from small to medium complexity
  • Create training materials and user documentation, and maintain such documentation as business needs evolve
  • Meet with end users to understand needs; using input from the users, evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of available upgrade and/or developmental options
  • Ability to recommend corporate security best practices
  • Set up and/or maintain users (e.g., assign licenses, reset passwords, and resolve locked user accounts)
  • Apply the appropriate security controls (e.g., profiles, permission sets, organization-wide defaults, roles and the role hierarchy, sharing rules, public groups)
  • Create and maintain custom objects, custom fields, page layouts, record types and business process automation (e.g., process builder, approval processes)
  • Manage data updates including inserting, updating, and deleting records using data loader
  • Execute change control procedures (e.g., change sets) 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, engineering, math, science or a closely related technical field
  • 5+ years Salesforce Administration / Development
  • Experience in configuration, testing and deployment of Salesforce.com functionality
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to support existing environments, manage multiple tasks, and stay focused
  • Strong communication and writing skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and responsibility for systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or certification in a related field
  • Oil and gas industry IT experience
