Manager, Fleet Safety

The Manager, Fleet Safety leads collaboratively across the entire company to ensure all Company and contractor vehicles are operating safely on work sites, access roads, and public roadways.  The Manager, Fleet Safety is responsible for analyzing fleet incident data to determine proactive safety programs for implementation to mitigate or prevent vehicle accidents.  This also includes ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal fleet safety procedures, and development of new procedures to ensure the prevention of all types of vehicle accidents. Development of key performance indicators for fleet safety is another responsibility to ensure continuous performance. 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Develops the strategic plan for effective fleet operating safety for EQT including Company and contractor vehicles

  • Collaboratively proposes & implements with the business units and contractors leading vehicle safety programs to mitigate or prevent vehicle accidents

  • Conducts and/or leads internal fleet safety audits and inspections to determine the root cause of vehicle incidents and to determine trends for proactive preventable fleet safety programs

  • Collaboratively develops and implements fleet safety procedures and training programs to ensure internal and external compliance and to reinforce positive behaviors and identify behaviors requiring modification for all company and contractor vehicle drivers

  • Interfaces with regulatory agencies to investigate vehicle accidents and to develop reports

  • Leads the development of key performance indicators to manage vehicle performance and to ensure continuous performance

  • Provides vehicle safety leadership for EQT and its multiple contractors

Required Skills:

  • Knowledgeable of vehicle safety regulations, regulatory agency interaction processes, and incident response and investigation

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal business unit organization levels and contractors

  • Demonstrated strategic experience in fleet safety performance

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and writing skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to influence and effectively partner

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and problem solve

  • Knowledgeable of effective vehicle safety programs & leading edge technology solutions

  • Computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Supervisory Requirements:

  • Direct supervision of fleet safety coordinators & indirect supervision of multiple company & contractor vehicles

Required Experience:

  • At least 8 years of progressive fleet safety experience

  • Experience leading multiple contractors in the safe operation of vehicles

  • Supervisory experience managing multiple internal & external personnel and vehicles

  • Energy industry experience preferred

  • Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety science, engineering, or management

Other Requirements:

 

  • Driving company vehicle at various site terrain and weather conditions

  • Overnight travel required
