GIS Tech I/II

The GIS Technician I/II will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and advancement of EQT’s GIS built on ESRI technologies.  This position will provide support to the Asset Development Group.  The position will require GIS skills that include the utilization of advanced tools, processes and workflows.   Work entails GIS data manipulation and analysis that includes but is not limited to QC functions, creation and maintenance of spatial data and attributes, format manipulation, geo-referencing, and datum and projection transformations. Position works independently with moderate supervision in conjunction with core GIS team and under the direction of the GIS Supervisor.  Position will be located in EQT Plaza in downtown Pittsburgh, PA.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

• Data creation/editing/conversion/migration within ESRI’s ArcGIS environment.

• Ad hoc cartographic production including thematic mappingand associated analytics for both internal and external requesters.

• Spatial Analysis/mapping/modeling/reporting as required to meet business user’s needs

• Development and maintenance of spatial topologies.

• Identification and set-up of base mapping products and deliverables including land based datasets.

• Ability to identify processes for automation via scripts and other tools.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience using ESRI’s ArcGIS desktop software and extensions with a proven ability to perform data manipulation and digitization. 
• Ability to create maps based on a diverse set of user requirements.
• Familiarity with both vector and raster geospatial data formats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.

• A motivation for the delivery of high quality products with great attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to communicate technical procedures with less technical users to meet business needs.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Self-motivated, ability to work with and without supervision while multi-tasking and prioritizing across a number of projects and initiatives.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop automated processes.
• Experience with Python, ModelBuilder and other programming languages and tools preferred. 
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel is desired.
• Commitment to follow and integrate high quality database standards.
• Experience working with CAD files will be helpful.
• Oil and gas experience is a plus.

Required Experience

• Bachelors’ degree or higher in Geography, GIS or related field desired.

• One to three years hands-on experience and demonstrated proficiency with ESRI’s ArcGIS software.

• Equivalent combination of education & experience may satisfy the position’s minimum requirements.
